The Bernard Series Basket Press Syrah

This wine celebrates Bernard’s proud legacy as the first wine maker to release a single variety Shiraz in the Cape. Grapes are hand harvested from prime vineyards and crushed in a small batch basket press than naturally fermented to preserve the inherent dark berry fruit tinged with subtle floral suggestions and black, white pepper spice.

The wine is hand harvested from predominantly unirrigated bush wines for liberal black cherry , ripe mulberry and raspberry confit fruit concentration brushed with floral allure and enhanced by maturation in French Oak for 18 months.
